Indian-Inspired: Flavors of the Subcontinent in an American Kitchen
October 28, 2019 with Suman Shah, 6:00–8:00 pm

Love Indian flavors and wish you felt confident using them in your everyday meals? Suman will show you how to make the vibrant flavors of the Indian subcontinent your own. She’ll demonstrate the delicious results of using traditional spice combinations and time-tested techniques to make soups, main dishes, salads, and simple desserts.

As you learn, you’ll enjoy a four-course, vegetarian tasting menu. You’ll go home inspired to cook, with new recipes, and a jar of our garam masala, which re-creates Suman’s family recipe.

Suman’s recipes draw inspiration from her Indian roots (Calcutta to Mumbai) and a life of almost twenty years in New England. When not teaching classes, she’s developing recipes for the Market Day Meal Kits sold at farmers markets around Boston. Her recipes on the blog Fork on a Road show us her instinctive style of cooking from different corners of the world. She makes familiar foods in unexpected ways, making them healthy, versatile and easily adaptable for a busy life. Find her on Instagram @forkonaroad.
